Yes, any phone will work as long as it uses one of the "Supported Networks". Your mobile must also be able to send and receive SMS text messages. If in doubt email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Absolutely, so long as you have a compatible mobile phone and it can send and receive sms messages.
Yes, but each mobile number will have its own separate mHITs account. You cannot group your mHITs accounts together. You can of course send money between accounts using mHITs.
No credit cards are required to set up your mHITs account. You don't even need to have a bank account to use mHITs.
No, mHITs uses SMS so it works on all mobile phones that can send and receive SMS messages. However, if you have an iPhone, you can download the mHITs iPhone application that makes using mHITs a little easier.
Too easy. All transactions are listed online in your mHITs account. Login and go to the Transaction History page. You must be registered to view your transaction history. Click here to register.
You will automatically go through the activation process during step 04 when you sign up. If you miss this step click here to go to the activation page.
The easiest way to do this is get someone to pay you! Else you can load your mHITs account using Internet Banking, POLi or over-the-counter deposit and any ANZ branch. Click here for more info.
Simply TXT the word "Balance" to 0428 696 448 (0428 MY MHIT). You will then receive an sms with your mHITs account balance. You can also check your mHITs account balance online. Login in and your account balance will be displayed.
Use the PAY keyword and the mobile number of the recipient in international mobile number format (including the country code) to send money overseas. You will receive an SMS confirming the amount the recipient will receive plus a one-time authorisation code. Reply by SMS with the one-time code to authorise and complete the payment. You will receive another SMS to confirm that the payment was successful. See the How It Works page for more details.
The overseas recipient must be registered with a compatible m-wallet or e-wallet operator in a supported country. Payments will be automatically credited to their m-wallet or e-wallet account once you confirm the payment by replying with the correct one-time authorisation code. They will also receive a notification from their provider the moment they receive a payment from you. They can access funds according to the services available to them from their m-wallet or e-wallet provider such cash-out facilities at agents. See the How It Works page for more details.
mHITs is an extremely secure way to conduct your transactions. Here's why:
- All transactions are performed from YOUR mobile phone
To perform any mHITs transaction, you must physically use your mobile phone. This ensures that only you can perform a transaction.
- All transactions must be personally authorised
Unlike credit card and direct debit systems which allow auto-debiting of your account, every mHITs transaction must be personally authorised. This puts you, and only you, in total control of every transaction.
- Instant notification of all transactions
Whenever an mHITs transaction occurs on your account, you are notified INSTANTLY by sms.
- No transactions can be performed via our website
This eliminates the possibility of Internet fraud.
- Monitoring of transactions
All mHITs transactions are monitored by our fraud prevention team.
- No credit card details are stored
Unlike credit card systems where details are stored, each mHITs transaction must be performed by an individual. This means that all transactions must be personally authorised each time they occur.
All payments will show up in your mHITs account straight away! However, payments from your bank account to your mHITs account may take up to two or three business days depending on your bank. This delay is due to the banks, not us!
If your money is not in your mHITs account after three working days, please contact email@example.com.
mHITs has a simple low $5 fee structure for sending money overseas. The $5 fee will be deducted from the amount you are sending. See the mHITs Remit page for more details.
Some mHITs services are free and some have fees. For example checking your mHITs account balance is free and sending money to other mHITs users is free. You will be charged a small fee for some methods of loading your mHITs account (e.g. branch deposit). International remittance transactions also have fees. For a full list of fees click here.
But don't forget, your mobile phone company may charge you for sending an sms message.
You can send between $50 and $500 at a time. There is also a maximum limit of $500 per day. There may also be limits on how much money can be sent per month. See the mHITs Remit page for more details.
Once you authorise the overseas payment, it should be made from your mHITs account straight away and the recipient should also receive the funds straight away. However, sometimes delays in mobile phone networks mean that this message could be slightly delayed. If you have not received an SMS reply or confirmation within 30 minutes, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. See the mHITs Remit page for more details.
You should check your mHITs transaction history online to make sure that the payment has registered on your account. If so, email email@example.com and include your mobile number, the mobile number of the person sending or receiving the payment, the amount, approximate date/time of the payment, and your mobile network name.
Oops! You will have to get more credit so you can send an sms from your mobile. You cannot make payments with mHITs online.
This can happen for one of two reasons.
- Public holidays may delay processing of transactions by one day.
- mHITs may have received your money, but is unable determine which mHITs account to deposit it into.
This happens if your mHITs mobile number does not appear in the description or reference field of the bank transfer. In this case, mHITs has your money in a special suspense account, and can give it to you once we have verified that you own the money. In order to claim the funds, you must contact mHITs support at firstname.lastname@example.org, and include your full name, your mobile number, the date of the transfer, the amount of the transfer, the contents of the description or reference field, the BSB and the account number of the account from which the money was transferred. Once mHITs support has verified that you own the money, it will be instantly deposited into your mHITs account.
The maximum daily transaction limit on payments made from your mHITs account or between mHITs accounts is $100. International remittance payments have a daily limit of $500. This is a cumulative daily total and re-sets at midnight.
Your mHITs account balance must not exceed $1000. If you exceed this limit, your mHITs account may be suspended. If this occurs contact email@example.com.
There are different limits on how much money you can send to recipients overseas. The limits vary depending on the country and the receiving mobile money operator. They are quite complicated and too complex to publish here.
It is unlikely that you will ever reach these transaction limits. However, if you are receiving an error message about reaching a transaction limit, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with the transaction details and we will provide more information.
Simply go online, view your transaction history, and print it if you so desire!
mHITs allows sending of money to a selected number of overseas countries only. To receive funds, the recipient must be registered with a compatible m-wallet or e-wallet operator in one of these countries. See the mHITs Remit page for more details.
